Outfit Of The Week: When You Decide To Flaunt Florals In Winters

Flaunt Florals

I wish every time I liked an outfit on social media (Instagram) it would magically appear in my closet.

Never happens. N-E-V-E-R-R-R !!

It’s that magical time of the year. Holidays. We all want to look pretty, feel pretty and wear stunning outfits. I, on the other hand, am in this phase of understanding the fashion sense during the transition time between summer and winter.

Should the boots be out already? Is it time to pack the summer clothes, and take out the winter ones? But isn’t it still too hot for real winter wear…Aaaahhh…

The answer is LAYERING. If I had a penny every time I heard a blogger or YouTuber say this, then I would probably have Gucci, Armani in my closet. While major bloggers are out giving advice on what to wear, what looks chic, and a complete 180 turn on wardrobe essentials, real life, unfortunately, is not a princes’ diaries part 1,2, or 3.

Early December for me is the perfect time to flaunt florals basically my summer wear while feeling fantabulous. The way the sun rays feel on the bare skin, that tingling whisk of air with the warm fuzzy feeling of the rays is pure heaven. That + the beautiful crisp air during sunny mornings with a hot cup of coffee to go..Ahh, pure bliss.

Florals take me back to that feeling. That fresh bloom, the sweet scent of flowers, the enchanting pop of colours, that happy feeling of all things good + gifts coming. It’s a magical time to be in and the perfect time to spread some joy all around.

The best part about wearing florals is you can team it up with anything solid colour and you’re good to go. This one skirt, I think I have worn it on multiple occasions with a plain white top, or even with a same navy blue monotone colour top. Just add a scarf to add an oomph factor.

Btw, I am wearing a fleece legging underneath it just so the cold doesn’t get me. If you’re someone who likes staying warm, then just wear a fitting leather jacket on top, and you have another look right there.

Hi Namrata,
Over the last few weeks I have read every post on frugal2fab, and also working my way through this blog. I am an Australian woman with a daughter around your age. We are not Indian so do not expect to plan an Indian wedding but I have found your blogs fascinating anyway. You tell a great story and the photos are lovely. I’m wondering on the outfit above. I am coming to Delhi this December and am being told it will be cold. I note you said you are wearing fleecy leggings but is it warm enough for no sleeves or was that a brave moment for the photos ?
Loving all your travel and fashion posts, wish I had found them before I had booked all my hotels, but there will probably be another trip.
Would really love it if you could give me some advise re weather for packing, as I am struggling getting my head around how cold/hot it will be.

Hi Cathie,
Thank you so much for writing in. Delhi winters usually are pleasant cold except for a week or two when it gets quite cold. However, if you are going to be sightseeing in Delhi, there is no better weather to be out and about in the city. You will absolutely enjoy the sunshine along with the winters. Don’t worry, during the day if you’re moving around, sleeveless will be alright. Just in case, carry a shawl/woollen throw of sorts that you can wrap yourself with in case there is wind. You can easily buy one in Delhi itself. The markets will be flooded with those in various colours, patterns. I can assure you, you will want to pick one of those. They are great for gifting as well.

Just carry one set of thermals, both upper and lower. A jacket, and something cosy for your feet. You and your daughter will be fine 🙂 Let me know in case you have any other questions. Would be happy to help 🙂

thanks so much, looking forward to experiencing all India has to offer. Only have 15 kilo’s on internal flights so sadly will have to shop carefully 🙂
